Once you start building in your base, adding rooms required to progress the mission or just to appease your alters, you quickly run out of room, especially if you're mining a lot of resources and have to build extra storage. In the Command Center, it's possible to expand your base, with four different tiers available. Here's how to do it.
To upgrade your base in Qubit Chip locations. It's worth noting that every time you upgrade your base, you'll need more organics to get it moving, so make sure you have a constant supply to make a quick getaway and avoid the incoming sun.
Expanding your base in The Alters
To upgrade your base in The Alters, you need to research Base Expansion in the base tab in the Research Lab. To do this, you need one of the best alters, the Scientist.
Once you've researched Base Expansion, you can expand your base to the next tier, providing you have enough metals and minerals.
To keep expanding your base, you need to follow the base tree in the research tab, with each tier costing more resources. To unlock additional research availability, you need Planetary Samples by discovering anomalies in The Alters using a mission device, The Luminator. This handy tool fends off enemies, but it can also be used on glowing anomalies; you then follow their trail, which leads you to Planetary Samples.
