We believe the Clockwork Revolution release date will be sometime in 2026. The game has been confirmed to launch on PC and Xbox Series X|S.
While the trailer during the Xbox Games Showcase in June 2025 showed off a lot of gameplay, the devs are staying tightlipped about the release date, with the trailer revealing that it is "coming in due time". Considering how long the game has been in development for, as well as the amount of gameplay we've seen, it would be very unlikely for this game to launch in 2027.
It's unclear whether Clockwork Revolution will release on PlayStation 5, but given Microsoft's current strategy to launch its games on every platform it can, this would be a strange omission if it didn't launch on Sony's console.
Clockwork Revolution gameplay
There's a lot to deduce from the five minutes of new gameplay, starting off with the character creation screen. We've got our first look at the attributes on offer, as well as the effects and traits your character has at the beginning of the game. In traditional RPG fashion, you're able to decide how you want to distribute your stat points, with each category broken down into attributes like agility and social.
To play into the steampunk aspect, there's a gunsmith that allows you to build custom weapons using various parts from around the world. We see a pistol being altered using gun parts and metal cylinders for the barrel. Judging by the UI, it looks like there are six different parts of the pistol to tinker with, giving you plenty of ways to make your arsenal tuned to your liking.

The game was officially revealed during the Microsoft Xbox Showcase in June 2023. Here, we get a glimpse of the story where we play as a revolutionary fighter rebelling against the rule of Lady Ironwood, the game's antagonist. Avalon features a network of suspended railroads and steam-powered automatons, incredibly advanced technology for the period of time the game is set in.
As Morgan Vanette, you're armed with the power to reverse and alter time itself. There are moments in the trailer where Morgan's choices change the future so dramatically that the brightly colored town becomes a dilapidated fascist police state where armed androids patrol the streets.
The latest trailer takes us through the slums of Avalon where we see Morgan's gang, the Rotten Row Hooligans, for the first time. It appears Morgan can be customized, allowing you to create the perfect character by changing their appearance and background. While the settings of the two trailers may appear to be drastically different, this is because the first trailer took place in Midward, the upper-class region of Avalon.
